Mrs Mathapelo Masisi is the Chief Financial Officer of Setsoto Local Municipality.  She has Bcom (Accounting) Degree, a qualification in Municipal Finance Management Programme and she is currently studying towards obtaining Post Graduate Diploma in Business Admin.

Mrs Masisi is a Qualified Accountant and Auditor and before her appointment at Setsoto Local Municipality she held following key positions:

• Chief Financial Officer at Tokologo Local Municipality.
• Assistant Manager (Auditing) PricewaterhouseCoopers.
• Member of South African Local Government Bargaining Council specialising in Local Government Human Resource Management and  Development Community Practice.
• Member of Lejweleputswa Development Agency specialising in Finance and Human Resource.

The Finance Department manages the financial affairs of Council to ensure the optimum use of all Council assets. In essence, it is the protector and custodian of the public purse as it levies taxes and charges on the public, collects the taxes and charges from the public, and administers the expenditure of those taxes and charges on goods, services and assets on behalf of the public.
